Kohima, April 22 (MExN): A two-day Rural Development Program Workshop for Rural Development (RD) Officers is underway at RD Branch, Kohima from 22-23 April.

RD Minister Metsubo Jamir during the inauguration reminded the officers of certain obligations and responsibilities they have towards the state government and the people of Nagaland. Jamir urged them to be sincere and prompt in carrying out their duties towards the rural people. To this end, he called on all districts and blocs to ensure that officers and staffs diligently attend the seminars and trainings organized by the department.

Jamir also urged the officials to keep learning and improving their knowledge so that they stay up to date with the new programs and guidelines issued by the ministry.

Commissioner and Secretary, RD, Neposo Theluo also mentioned that the 2021-22 financial year has been a very difficult and challenging year. However, he expressed satisfaction that despite all the problems, some districts have achieved good results. He also felt the need to conduct more trainings and workshops to update us and be able to perform the dough as many officers and deer in the field work without experience or knowledge of the programs being implemented.

Reiterating the importance of using the correct diet nomenclature, Theluo instructed them to go through the allowed list of diets under MGNREGA to familiarize themselves with the correct diet nomenclature.

A press release issued by K Neibou Sekhose, Co-Director, RD, said the two-day workshop will include sessions on VDB Fixed Deposit & Micro Finance, PMAY-(G), RGSA, XVFC, presentation on Amrit Sarovar , scheme nomenclature, timely payments , NMMS, AO App, GIS, SECURE, BRO, Geo MGNREGA , Moringa Convergence and NREGA-Soft MIS issue.
