JD Health Interim Financial Report: Focus on two-wheeled growth

JD Logistics released its 2022 interim results on Aug. 23, with revenue up 20.9% to RMB 58.6 billion yuan, a growth rate above the industry average.

External factors, including the pandemic, have posed challenges to the global logistics industry, while JD Logistics’ continued investment in supply chain infrastructure and smart technology enables the company to leverage flexible and resilient integrated supply chain solutions. In the second quarter of 2022, JD Logistics’ revenue from external customers increased 27.7% year-on-year to 18.2 billion yuan, accounting for nearly 60% of total revenue in the quarter, thanks supply chain solutions and company-tailored products for customers. of various industries including FMCG, Appliance, Apparel, 3C, Automotive, Fresh Food and more.

At the same time, JD Logistics continues to expand its logistics infrastructure at home and abroad. As of June 30, 2022, JD Logistics operated over 1,400 self-contained warehouses and over 1,700 owner-operator cloud warehouses under its open warehouse platform, with an aggregate floor area (GFA) of approximately 26 million square meters. The same-day or next-day delivery service covered 94% of counties and 84% of cities and towns in China.

In June, JD Logistics launched the first automated warehouse in the United States, “Los Angeles No.2”, expanding its self-contained warehouses in the country to approximately 1,000,000 square feet. Since 2020, JD Logistics has launched overseas self-managed warehouses in USA, Germany, Netherlands, France, UK, Vietnam, UAE, Australia, Malaysia, etc. ., which represents the first achievements of the company in its plan to expand the global network. As of June 30, 2022, JD Logistics operated approximately 90 bonded warehouses, international direct mail warehouses and overseas warehouses, covering a total gross area of ​​approximately 900,000 square meters with an increase of more than 70% from a year to year.

JD Logistics has invested in smart technologies around warehousing and delivery. JD Logistics had applied for more than 7,000 patents and software licenses, of which more than 4,000 are related to automation technology and unmanned technology. As the first company in China to commercially apply autonomous delivery vehicles on public roads, JD Logistics now deploys over 400 such vehicles in more than 25 cities, including Beijing, Tianjin, Changshu and more.

Moreover, JD Logistics is deeply aware that the future of business is closely linked to the environment, society and industry. In May, JD Logistics published its first ESG report; and in June, JD Logistics and its partners jointly released the “Carbon Neutral Guide for Logistics Parks” and took the initiative to introduce a comprehensive solution for carbon neutrality in logistics parks. JD Logistics also released the industry’s first Delivered in Original Packaging (“DWOP”) green packaging certification and partnered with numerous partners to define the new green packaging goal, aiming to achieve more 80% of e-commerce products supporting DWOP by 2030.
